Objectives: The panel provides a unique opportunity for members and observers of the Human Rights Council to be briefed about the root causes of violations and abuses against Rohingya Muslims and other minorities in Myanmar and to take stock of the latest research and developments on the ground. The panel will further explore existing and new recommendations to address these root causes for protecting the human rights of the Rohingya and other minorities and as an essential part of the solution for peace in Myanmar, including the permanent solution for the Rohingyas displaced from Rakhine State.

For panel discussions the online inscription for the lists of speakers opens on Tuesday, 7 June at 4 p.m., and closes 24 hours before the meeting in which the respective debate is scheduled to start. In exceptional cases, after the online inscription has closed, delegations may still inscribe or withdraw by either approaching the list of speakers desk in room XX or sending an email to ohchr-hrclistofspeakers@un.org.
NHRIs and NGOS are also requested to inscribe online. Speakers intending to participate in person are requested to confirm their participation at ohchr-ngoconfirmation@un.org.

Speaking time is 2 minutes for all. Please also refer to announcements made in Room XX and through Sched and SMS alert.
The list of speakers for each panel discussion will be generated by the system based on the indicated priority and the time of inscription, thus allowing a broader representation of delegations participating in panel discussions over the course of the session. Please refer to the guidance note on the Extranet for further details.
The lists of speakers will be made available on the Extranet the day before the debate or dialogue is scheduled to start and will be updated live.
